Lots of Sides
Lots of Sides is my entry to gamedev-interest 2024 spring game jam. This is a Geometry Dash-like game.
Couldn't start the jam till the 5th, but had fun making this. I planned on building level system but ran out of time :) so there is only Endless mode.
You'll have to hit fullscreen to be able to play the game, or download it.
Play with volume on :)
Theme was 'changing sides'.
Controls:
Left/Right arrow: change your sides
Down arrow: change your side
Up arrow: jump
Space: (menu) confirm
Return: (menu) go back

This took me a few minutes to understand what was going on, but once I really caught on to the controls, I saw how clever this actually is!
Yeah… I think I did the players a disservice by not baking control explanations into the game or something similar. My son (11), who plays a lot of Geometry Dash, bounced off of this when he first played it. I realized then that I messed up haha
I was planning on having some structured levels in place; my hopes were to ease the player into the controls and mechanics and how they build on each other. Didn’t get around to it though, lol #gamejamlife
Thanks for playing :)
I can’t think that fast D: lol
I think the right meta is to immediately not be 3. 3 is a losers geometry
But triangles are the strongest shape!
this is true
octogons are the bestogons tho
